Clothing & Food Reminders

In an effort to be very clear about expectations we want everyone to know that we have determined that pajama wear is not acceptable attire for school. However, if the school schedules a specific "pajama day" they are welcome.

As a reminder, the student handbook states "Students are not to bring sodas, energy drinks, coffee, etc. to consume at school". Drinks brought from outside of school and consumed at lunch or snack need to fall within these guidelines. Currently some students are bringing an assortment of drinks for consumption throughout the school day. Only plain water is to be consumed between and in classes at non-snack times. Water fountains are available here at school and we have a water machine where it may be purchased for $1 a bottle.

We also want to promote and support students eating healthy snacks. Keep in mind if it has one ingredient it is probably healthier than something with a long list of unpronounceable ingredients. For example, nuts, whole fruits and raw vegetables are better for us than prepared foods with mystery ingredients. As stated previously in our newsletter, we do not support or promote the consumption of candy here at school. This includes tic-tacs, gum, Altoids and similar items.
