Nature Playscape

About this time last year Tremont students were introduced to the concept of a nature playscape and shown a wooded area next to the school between the greenhouse and bus garage. Students of all ages were given the opportunity to dream big about what their ideal playscape would include. They came up with some fantastic ideas that included an outdoor classroom, huts constructed from willow branches and a "working waterfront" play area. After months of planning, we are now ready to begin preparing the site! This new play area will be constructed for our community with our own hands and we need your help. Come and join the Playscape Team and the Tremont PTO for a work party! Our first step is to clean up and clear the chosen site adjacent to the school. A work party has been scheduled for Saturday, May 11th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The goal for the day is to clear the area of debris and overgrowth. All are welcome! Come for all or part of the day. A pancake breakfast and a mid morning snack will be provided. We are asking people to bring any or all of the following: shovels, rakes, trowels, maddocks, laupers, handsaws, work gloves and a picnic table. Please contact Kreg McCune at 244-0554 with any questions.
