Dear Tremont School Community,

This is the final TCS Wildcat Weekly Newsletter of the 23-24 school year.  We are forever baffled by how quickly a school year passes, but are grateful to have served the Tremont community for another year!  We will take the summer months to give the school building and grounds some TLC, make any necessary changes to rooms, reflect on data to plan engaging and effective instruction for the 24-25 year and consider ways in which to further engage with parents/guardians and the Tremont community. 

Thank you to all who made it out for the TCS Spring Concert and the PTO Family BBQ.  Mrs. Putnam and TCS's young musicians do not disappoint!  Additionally, we want to thank volunteers who provide supplies and man hours to make the BBQ possible and to all for demonstrating patience and a sense of community throughout the evening.  Mr. Prentice and Mr. Stanley, your grilling talents made for delicious food and we hope your eyes have recovered from the smoke.  You knocked it out of the park!

We would also like thank the 8th grade students and parents for ending the year on a high note.  The 8th grade trip to Boston was a great time and a positive way to spend time together before the official transition to MDIHS.  Friday's promotion ceremony was touching, as each student was recognized as an individual for their many respectable attributes.  It is always fun and tearful when we look back over the years we spend together; however, the sense of pride we feel for each student is immeasurable.  Eamon, Harmoni, JD, Peyton, Parker, MaKayla, Ella, Grace, Jacob, Rosie and Coe, you have left a lasting mark on all of us at TCS.  You will be missed dearly and you are loved deeply.  We hope TCS will always be a safe place for you to return to.  Please visit and keep in touch.  We will be eager to hear about all of your new experiences and many achievements!

As the year ends, we must acknowledge the commitment of TCS educators.  For many, teaching and supporting students and families is what we feel we were born to do.  Thank you to our brilliant team for the many hours you have given both at school and at home to ensure each child makes progress, feels seen and feels connected to another safe and caring adult.  This year we say a fond farewell to student teacher and edu tech, Ashley Graves, and edu tech Emily Ellis.  We have just recently learned that longtime 1st grade teacher, Sue Hodgdon will be retiring from TCS.  Given that we are so close to the end of the school year, we are taking some time to thoughtfully plan a recognition and celebration for her.  More information will come as plans develop.  Thank you all for every minute, hour, day, year you served the Tremont community.  Your impact is undeniable.  

Wednesday is the final student day.  It will be field day.  Please help students dress in layers suited for activity and play both inside and outside.  Sneakers would be best and sunscreen or bugspray may also be helpful to apply before arriving at school.  If you would like to volunteer, we would be happy to have you.  Please contact Mrs. Pajor-Meddaugh at natalia.pajor@mdirss.org to sign up to volunteer.

The final Teacher Day is June 13th.  This time will be used for end of year reporting.  We plan to have report cards mailed out on or before Friday, June 21st.

From the TCS staff, we have enjoyed this year of partnership with you and look forward to growing our connections for the better of each student next year.  We wish you a warm and fun filled summer with your child(ren) and will miss them.  The first student day of school for 24-25 will be Tuesday, August 27, 2024.  We look forward to seeing you then!
